What if its lie?? What if POE finds out that you lied ??? Then what will happen??? Just kidding.

Ya, you are right, if members on this forum becomes POE officer, there will be lot of fun as they are all expert. Most of GC holders will loose their GC with variety of reasons posted and discussed on this forum. And forget not, feel lucky,if your GC card stayed with you throughout your flight, GC card can vanish in plane without any trace as well.

thats it...you are as good as an american except that you dont have voting permit.
nobody is going to ask anything about your employment or anything. you can sit at home (in US) years and years...(if you have enough money ) no probs. But out side US you can stay only 6 months.

Sometimes BCBP asks question about employment. But I guess it's just a security question to check the validity of GC (fraud etc) and has nothing to do with "intent" or "thumb rule".

Hi guys

Thanks a lot for every one. I am totally confused with all your suggestions. Let me explain the situation onceagain.i got my GC in feb of '04 .my wife and son came to India in the last week of November and my self in jan'05..Due to some medical reasons and also due to some personal problems my stay could be till last week of April and my wife's stay will be a week later than my stay..

Gurus..My question is ..Is it safe to go this long time? ..Any suggestions for my wife and me..if I start by last week of April it will be around 31/2 months for me and 5months1week for my wife of stay in India..My current situation technically I am employed but no salary. Since I am working on hourly I don’t get any salary for this 3 months.

At the most what problems can I face..Please give your suggestions..

Whenever you stay outside USA for long period of time, you run into the risk of being accused of PR abandonment. But if you stay outside within legal limit (less than a year), a proper and convincing explanation with proof is good enough for re-entry into USA. So I guess if you and wife have some proof of "medical condition" (like treatment/surgery record etc), you are fine.
