GC or H1 : Confused

Hi guys.
I am currently on H1b. My wife is a GC applying for her citizenship in September this year.
My H1 expires dec this year.

I am confused over whether I should apply for a GC now as the spouse of a GC or renew my H1 for another three years and apply for GC once my wife gets her Citizenship?

In case I decide to apply now for GC, can I still continue to work after my H1B expires?

Thanks

It will probably take ~6 months by the time her n-400 is approved and she becomes a citizen. By that time, your H1-B would have expired

Being a LPR, your wife can apply I-130 for you now, but that will not get you any status or benefit till your PD is current and you file I-485 (That takes ~3 years).

If you ask my opinion, extend your H1B and file the AOS package after she becomes a citizen. This way, you can remain in valid status and continue to work till you file AOS.

Like i said, only I-130 can be filed at this point which will not give you any benefit. So if your H1-B expires, you cannot work.

Thanks Ari. What you said make sense. I have decided to renew my H1 and apply for AOS afterwards.
Thanks for you advice.
