Hi all people,
i would like to ask if applying for the coming DV lottery visa for Green card has any effects on applying for B1 visa?
i am an egyptian medical graduate who should go to the US to do a test for my medical degree, and i think it will need B1 visa, one of my friends said that if i applied for the lottery of GC, guys at the embassy will consider this a sign of immigration intentions and will not grant me my B1 visa.
indeed, i hope to know ur idea about this topic
thanks in advance and hope to hear from u soon

ur friend is absolutely wrong. Applying for dv lottery does not show immigrant intent and applying for dv lottery does not mean that you've applied for an immgrant visa in the past.
I've always applied for dv lottery and i never had problems with getting a non-immigant visa.

Johnkent,

I have 2 questions for you:

Did you apply recently on-line using a "new" electronic form or the old way using "paper letter", i.e. couple of years ago?

What did you answer on DS-156 form for the question if anyone have ever applied an immigration petition on your behalf?

Thanks in advance!

First of all thanks to all of u
@conxerned4us, many thanks man, u always help me, but can explain how my friend is right?
@johnkent,it may be different in our cases, u can be from a country which is not a source of high immigration rate to the US(both legal and illegal) like my country so this may not interfer with both ur lottery and B1 visa. u see this right or wrong thinking?
