GC Journey has come to a happy ending.

Atlast, I got my approval email yesterday after 5 years and 7 days of terrible wait. Finally, I happened to check my yahoo mail and i saw those magic emails. Eventhough, I am not as excited as I would have been if this had happened in time, as I have almost spent a decade in this country with visa, I feel very relieved now as I do not need to think abt anymore.

FYI..
I did n't get any LUD before the approval.
Here is the little summary of my GC journey..

05/17/2002 - Labor Filed with Maryland State
01/16/2006 - Labor approved.
04/18/2006 - 485/I140 applied.
07/19/2006 - I140 approved. 485 transferred from Dallas to NSC.
05/24/2007 - 485 approved.:)

I must admit that this forum was served like a torchiere to explore this GC darkdom and thank all those who helped by sharing informations to keep us going.

I wish every one who in the line to get the magic emails asasp and god bless you all.

Your ID is one of the few that i recoganize since LC days (those days were damn dark because of the backlog, isn't it). I'm from MD too.

I'm so happy for your happy ending, i hope mine is close too. (See my signature).

Do you ever know if you were stuck in name check or not? Unfortunately I am stuck. When i think of my long GC journey, i feel depressed, and angry sometimes.:mad:

Hi Tribe,
I know, exactly how u feel. I went thru the pain. For the last few months, I totally forgot about this and even I avoided talking GC with my friends also.
To that extent,I hated this delay. Be little patient and I am sure that you would come out of this dark cloud very soon at the unexpected moment.
When I enquired back in Jan 2007, I was told that I got stuck in name check.
I don't known when it was cleared. What I understand is that name check is just an execuse they use to delay the processessing. I do n't see that name check is the main cause of all these delays.
Anyway, good luck and wish u guys get out of this mess asap.

Like MDLaborWatch, i don't want to talk about GC and my luck with name check. I hate the word "name check", officially.

This forum is where we, "the low", can vent a little bit, for good or bad.

How did you call NSC? Could you give that number?

You can call NSC at 1-800-375-5283 then press 1-2-2-6-1 then enter your LIN number, press 1 for correct then press 3 and then 4, you will be directed to an immigration officer, tell him you want to place a case status inquiry on your 485 application and he will ask you information related to your I-485. Please let me know what you found out.

When I called NSc, they didn't mention anything other than what you see online. They basically advised me to schedule an Info pass, which I didn't do.
Guys, no matter what u do, it takes it's own course of time. there is nothing much that we can actually do. If your dates are current, please be little patient, and u will see that it will come thru in an unexpected moment.
There is nothing much we can do to speed ur case other than writing to several top guys but some times, they aslo turn their back, your frustration will only go up. This is like hitting against the wall. Well,I am not saying this since I got my GC. I completely understand how painful it is as I was on visa for last 10 years. Just show little patience and you will realize that you will triumph over this crap very soon. Don't let the "GC thought" take over you.
