GC interview procedures in NY??

Yes, you get 2 different FP notices. One is FP only for EAD, the other is FP & Biometrics for AOS. They each have their own receipt number.

My question is, is that normal that the case status hasn't been updated with the interview?

I think its perfectly normal. when you file your i-485 it initially goes to your Service Center (my was Vermont then Missouri), most of the updates occur while its at the Service Center. Once it gets transfered back to DO for interview, not much occurs. Then it might go back to Service Center and occasioanally update or disappear (good news).
My AOS status, hasn't changed since May 05 and I had my interview and all. The online updates are not reliable so don't count so much on it.

Ok, so the conclusion is that I do have my receipt number (since FP and interview notice should have the same receipt number for AOS) but it's not going to be very useful from now on... great!

Thank you for your answers. Any news from you DO? Are you calling them next week?

Aude,
Now i'm getting confused myself. At least for me is the following:
Receipt number 1 for i-765 (EAD) -MSCXXXXXXXXXXX1 Fingerprint
Receipt number 2 for i-485 (AOS) -MSCXXXXXXXXXXX2 Fingerprint & Bio

I called my lawyer today to see if he advises me to contact my congresswoman or not. i haven't heard back from him. I was planning on calling my officer tomorrow. I know 2 people from this forum who had the same officer as me. One of them was nice enough to give me his number and extension but I don't want to call until i speak to my lawyer.
Of course i'll keep you posted ;)
BTW: Are you following the "Anyone has been approved in Garden City?" thread??

No confusion. I also have 2 different numbers. It's just that I can't find my AOS notice for the interview, but apparently the receipt number should be the same as my AOS FP notice, right?
I think I read that thread yesterday but I've been looking at so many, I'm not sure I remember.. I'll take a look again. Is it helpful?

I hope your lawyer calls you back with answers soon :)

Thanks, and i hope so too.

The thread is helpful. It might not apply to you so much since your interview was at Federal Plaza in Manhattan (right?) but the two offices are somewhat linked apparently so there are alot of similarities with the cases.

I post mainly there b/c people there seem to be more on the same boat as me.

I don't know if this helps now but at my company they have this fancy copier that sends copy to e-mail via PDF. So I took all my USCIS documents and made a PDF file and sent it to myself via e-mail so I have every important document in a e-mail attachment available anytime I need. I was even able to do one of my finger print with a copy of the fingerprint notice b/c i lost the original.

Anyway, thanks for all your support and lets hang in there together. There is light at the end of the tunnel for all of us :D

I agree :) Best of luck to us!

Aude,
I just called my congresswoman's office. I asked about what the precedure was to make an immigration inquiry on my behalf. The lady said that I have to fill out a release form so they can get the information. She wanted my address to mail it to me, I asked her if she could e-mail it to me instead, she said yes. I received the e-mail right away and I am already filling out the form. I'll have it ready so when my lawyer gives me the ok, I can drop it off at her office or mail it back to her.

Where do you live/congressional district? Do you know your congress person? I think this is the surest way to get results, based on my readings on this forum.

Thank you justfiled, that was very helpful. I did get 2 notices for FP for EAD and AOS. So you are saying that my AOS FP receipt number should be the same as my AOS interview receipt number, right?
The thing is when I put in that # for case status, it doesn't mention the interview, only that they got the FP results and the processing of my case has resumed...
Is that normal? I thought they would say something like "your case is being reviewed after interview, you will receive a notice for further blah blah.."
What do you think?
thank you for your answers

PS: What is LUD?

Aude,

My status also shows no update. It says something to the effect of: "We have received your finger printing results and the case has been resumed." There is no mention of my interview yet either and from what I here from others, no one really gets a status that acknowledges their interview. So don't worry lol. You're just part of the waiting game now.

My status says the same thing.
it is actually reassuring (and sad in the same time) to know that other people are in the same situation..! At least I know that I have the right number, not that it matters anymore since I joined the waiting game and apparently no update is going to be posted for a while..
