GC holder, traveling to PR, without native passport??

Hi,
I'm new to the forum, and grateful to have found you guys.

I am a greencard holder (via marriage), and a former F1 holder. I need to travel to Puerto Rico for a conference (7 days) and my itinerary is Atlanta-San Juan-Atlanta. Unfortunately, I 'misplaced' my native Thai passport. I've tried so hard to replace it but too long a story to share with you guys here (more to do with the Thai consulate and the local police--yeah, my passpart was not 'stolen' but 'misplaced/lost' so they would not give me an official police report). It'll take a long time to sort this all out but my conference is coming up soon.

Should I go to Puerto Rico? Can I? Will I have trouble entering PR, going around PR, and, coming back to the mainland? I do not have any valid passport (but the copy of the lost one, and the real but expired passport). And I have my GC and state-issued ID card.

Thanks so much.

I don't believe you need a passport to go to PR from a US origination: I certainly didn't when I went last year and early this year. Traveling to PR is like domestic travel: bring your driver's license and you are set.

this holds true both to and from PR.

Thank you so much...The hotels in PR told me I needed it..to be safe. But I've read in a lot of threads here, suggesting that it should be ok. Ok,thanks very much.
