GC holder marrying to F1 student visa holder

Hi,

I am a GC holder and my girlfriend is on F1 visa studying in US. She is Italian citizen.

Will there be any issues in case we get married? Can we apply for changing her status from F1 to dependent visa?

From this forum I understand there are possible issues of intent to immigrate if F1 student marries a GC.

How exactly it will impact her? Her F1 is valid till 2008 december. In case we marry ,will there be any issue at the immigration port when she returns back to US from a short vacation to Italy? i.e. they denying the entry on the basis though she is on F1 visa she got married while in USA?

Has anyone come accross something similar?

what kind of issues? legal issue? is she underage? your parents disagree?

Can we apply for changing her status from F1 to dependent visa?

you can apply for her immigrant visa. however, you are a gc holder and it would take her 4-5 yrs to get her greencard by marriage to a GC holder. during the waiting period, she would need to maintain her legal status in united status.

for the rest of the questions, intention or not, i do not want to get into the discussion. it is pretty subjective.

F1 marrying GC

Hi all.
Your response / feedback is appreciated.
I am a new F1 who came to US a month ago. My fiance is a 2 1/2 yr old GC (around the same time left for his citizenship). When is a good wait time to get married ? 30 days 90 days ? or it dosent really matter. I also understand that its not safe to reenter the country after getting married since it might show intent.
