GC holder marrying someone on H1-B

Friends,
I have a question on how the procedure works, if someone on GC wants to marry a H-1 worker. Can the H1-B holder (and the kid) become dependant for the GC holder, by submitting an application for status adjustment? Any information for this situation would be greatly appreciated.

There is no such thing dependent of GC holder. H1 holder in the question is pretty much on their own with his/her H1 status.
Until s/he filed I485, s/he needs to maintain legal status which is H1(or some other status if any).
