GC holder fiance

Hello,

I wonder if there is such a visa for a green card holder fiance? some sort of K1 visa, not for a US citizen, but for a GC holder. To my knowledge, for a fiance to get also a green card, the only option is to marry first outside the US and then file a petition as a spouse. And wait and wait for qutie long time.

Are there any quicker options, as opposed to GC spouse case, that will allow a person to stay in the US and work legally while the petition is being processed?

Your comments are greatly appreciated.

The V visa doesn't apply in this case: this person is not yet married (at least most be 3 years waiting after filed the I-130) AND the petition was file ON or BEFORE the year 2000.

To answers your questions, is NO.
There is no fiance visa for a green card holder, since the fiance visa is like an authorization to get marry with a US citizen and then apply for adjustment of status within the US.
Since the spouse of a green card holder must wait for a visa number to become available the same conditions does not apply.

Your fiance can come to the US without the need of a visa to get marry with you but then must mantain her/his status if s/he wants to stay here with you. Unless your spouse can apply for an H-1 visa or another type of visa.

Good luck,

Many thanks for your replies and providing links.

I had serious doubts if that could be a quicker option, but, as I suspected, it does not exist at all. Looks like going down the V-1 path is something worth considering.

Kind regards
