Hi all,
I have 2 different information that I hope the gurus/someone here could point me to the right direction.
My understanding (I've talked to BCIS customer service as well) is that Green Card holders can be out of the US, without filing anything with the BCIS, for 11 months.
While some lawyers said I was right, a few also told me that it was not. They said, green card holders must live in the US for at least 180 days; so if a GC holder is living in another country for more than 6 months he/she needs to apply for a Re-entry permit before leaving the US.
Please help me. TIA!
