GC Getting Married - Need Help

I am a Green card holder since Aug 2000. I am planning to get married in Oct 2004. My fiance is in India and will not be able to postpone my marriage. I have no idea about how to get my wife back to USA after the marriage? I have heard that it is not possible to get the spouse if you are a GC holder. Is it true?

I would appreciate if someone can direct me as to what are the visa or immigration laws regarding this matter.

Even though I should congratulate you on your marriage, I am sorry to say that you will not have luch with the US immigrations department.

The only category available to you in family based route that is an indefinitly long wait, anywhere between 5-7 years depending on state.

However she can try to come on her own via a F1/H1 etc but she will have to answer the dreaded question on the form -- Are you related or have relatives in the US and when you answer "Y" you become a potential immigrant, therefore a good probability of rejection.

Best is just wait it out......... apply for your citizenship and get her here,
