GC Card ordered --- Am I dreaming???

I just posted a while ago that I'm worried about switching jobs because I'm not sure about the new job description. THEN I checked online status for my family and all of us says "... card was ordered on ... wait for 30 days ... ". I feel very light-headed right now, my hands trembling, almost teary eyes. I just hugged my wife and kids, and maybe we'll go to our favorite buffet restaurant this weekend.

I know I'm NOT dreaming right now, but I don't want to see a different message within the next 30 days (or until I receive something in the mail). Can anyone PLEASE tell me that there was no mistake in what I just saw? Is there any possibility that someone might take it back? PLEASE, PLEASE tell me my dream has come true!

THANK YOU.

Please, allow me to rephrase my question ...

No replies --- maybe I sound too stupid. Please, let me rephrase my main question. Here goes:

Is it really possible for I-485 to be adjudicated in less than 6 months (from filing date)? Has anyone here have this experience?

Thank you!

my details ...

I don't have my documents right now, but here are the approximate details that I remember:

> EB2 category
> I-140 and I-485 filed on March 2008
> I-140 approved on May or June 2008

Today, online case status states:

"On July XX, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register."

I just want to know if the above message implies that the I-485 had already been approved or not. (If it is not yet approved, then why would they order a new card? If it had already been approved, why would they say "You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case"?)

Those that already got approved --- did you get the same message as above?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I had mine approved in 92 days, beleive or not. My husband is still waiting, though
Given that I was laid off right after my i-485 was filed, I was very concerned about leaving the country and facing questions from the immigration officers. However I have been traveling at least 2 times and nothing! IO were very nice to me and never asked anything regarding employment.

Hi Jackolantern!

Would it have been a problem if you told them that you're no longer working for the sponsoring employer (assuming you changed jobs since getting your GC)?

Thanks!

I was still with the original employer at the time (this was 4 months post-GC), so I don't know what would have happened if I said I wasn't working for them any more. But now that I have left them, on my next trip if I am asked about employment I will say my current employer at the time, and will also mention the original sponsor and say that I used to work for them. I figure I was asked about that because he wanted to verify if I owned the card (i.e. if somebody stole my card and tried to use it enter the US, they probably would not know who was the sponsoring employer).
