GC approved for parents, they live abroad.

Folks,
We applied for a GC for my parents while they were here and it got approved when the left. The GC was approved on march 2008 for 10 years. The advance parole expires next month. How much time do they have left, before they have to come to the united states and apply for re-entry permit.

Can they apply for re-entry or similar permit from outside the US.

Any help is appreciated.

They are supposed to be living in the USA... why do they need a re-entry permit?

They are not coming to due to health reasons. It may be a while before they can come.

Is it possible to give up the GC and apply for tourist visa if they can come in the future?
