GC approved before the marriage registered in India.

Hi All,

Please help.

My Green Card was approved last week. I was got married last Mar-2007 when I was in India but I could not register the marriage that time because I have to come back immediately.

I was wondering, can I register the marriage now and apply for the Follow To Join (FTJ) Consular Processing to my spouse? Or what is my option to bring the spouse to USA?

I understand that the marriage was registered after your GC approval, but what is the actual date of marriage that apears on that registration? If the date of marriage precedes your GC approval date, you may have a case for FTJ. I would advise a quick lawyer consultation. Good luck!!!
