GC application in the U.S. vs. outside

Hello,

I have been reading that some Police Reports etc are needed when the applicant for green card is outside the U.S. when the application is submitted. Are these sort of things needed when the person is not in India but instead here in the U.S.? How does one go about getting this information when they are here (this can be done only when one is in India, and the application is not there...). Or is different information requested when the applicant is in the U.S. as opposed to in India?

If someone can elaborate on the information required when the application is within the U.S. as opposed to outside, that would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Ashwin

Usualy if you are doing adjustments of status no police report required.(no exempt for some 7 countries Syria, Iran, ..etc)

If you are doing councellor process (You never been in US before), you have to produce police clearance certificate where ever you stay more than 6 months. (If you stayed in Gulf countries, Singaporee you have to get police certificate from those country)
