GC Appeal case

I need to get feedback from anyone who is in a similar position as I am. I was interviewed for my GC on Oct '04. However, my husband and I were required to submit additional info. This was sent to my lawyer 2 days after the interview. My passport was not stamped. My lawyer followed up with immigration to get a decision on the case. In Jan '05 we received a denial letter stating the I-130 was denied which was in fact approved in Nov '04. We were also told it was denied because we did not provide enough evidence. An appeal was sent to the AAO on Feb 1, '05. My lawyer has sent in numerous inquiries to find out the status up to this day no response. I went on further to contact the congressman to find out the status but still we haven't heard anything. Now my WP expired on Aug 3, '05 and I'm now home not working waiting for a decision to be made. Is there annyone who has been in a similar position? How long does the appeal cases take? It is now about 7 months and still no response. Waiting to hear from anyone who can help in this situation.
