Gap Between Visits for Visitor Visa

My FIL has 10yr Multiple entry Visa. He left US on Feb 6th, after his request for extension of stay beyond 6months got denied. (he left within 10days of the receipt of that letter). He is coming back on March 3rd.
Any experiences/ ideas on this how much gap is OK between the visits?

There is no specified gap that needs to exist between the trips. But the discretion lies with the officer at the POE. The main thing is they should not
see a pattern to these visits that would indicate that the person is spending a few days or weeks in India and coming back for a lengthy stay of 6 months in India.

In your case since your FIL has spent only a couple of weeks in India and seeking readmission to US, the Officer may question the intent. This time he
may or may not get the full 6 months on his I-94.

Hi. I am new to this thread. I would like to seek suggestions and advice from forumers here about my plan of re-entering the US. Here is the scenario. I was granted a 10 year multiple R B1/B2 visa last December 2008. I went to US in Illinois. I was given 6 month visa at POE in Detroit. I stayed in the US from December 30, 2008 until January 24, 2009. Afterwhich, I went back to my home country. The second time I visited the US, this time to New York was October 11, 2009. I was also given 6 months visa at POE in Anchorage. I stayed in the US until December 6, 2009. Now, I am planning to visit New York again. When do you think would be the best and safest time for me to go back to the US?Thanks for your help.
 
is there a safe period where u will be granted 6 mo stay ? what if someone stayed 5 mo (2 mo last year and 3 mo in this year) already what is the safest time to come back ?
 
A genuine visitor should never spend more than 6 months in the US during any rolling 12 month window.
