G4 to H4

HI,

I am stepping down from my job as a G4 and I got married to and H1B holder. I want to change status to H4. The HR department is quite naive to this kind of change of status so I received different information depending who I ask and a some point they try to avoid the issue.

Any advice about how can I start the process?

Hi,

I am currently holding H1B Visa. I am planning to get transfer to G4 visa as I got a job offer. But I am nto sure how long that project would be. So after it is over, HOW EASY or DIFFICULT to transfer from G4 to H1? Will this be treated as new H1B?

G4 visa is the easiest to obtain...

There is no cap on G4 visa at all. H1-B visas are capped by the US govt, G4 visa are not capped by anyone, and it you don't have to pay any fees to obtain this visa. :rolleyes:

Moreover, it is the easiest visa to obtain in the world, what the organization will do is to fax your visa application to the consulate which you are planning to apply for this visa, and once you get there, the US consulate will process it and give you the visa the same day. :) I once had a G4 visa, I went to the US consulate and was out of these in about 30 minutes. So, fear not...:(

So...transferring to a G4 visa isn't complicated at all...:eek:
 
H1b concurrently with G4?

Hi,
I'm currently on H1b but want to take on a short term consultancy with an international org. Can I do that without giving up H1b and changing to G4? Consultancy is only for a month, so its not worth changing. Can I legally retain my fill-time H1b employment and then do a G4 consultancy in addition?

G4 to H1

Hi, My situation is that I have G4 visa. My visa is because my wife works for International Organization and she asked a G4 visa for me. A company want to hire me but they do not how to process my H1 for work. what do they need to do? or What do I need to do? and how long will take to get my H1 visa?

I need to have clear this and start the process asap. The las question is how much is it the cost of the VISA?
