Looks like FY2006 EB3 quota has been used up. There were messages from folks with current PD waiting for visa availability.

We are in FY 2007 as of next week.

I know. But until now I thought EB3 demand was exagerated by USCIS and the entire FY 2006 quota would not be used. I was surprised they were able to calculate 6 month forward movement of EB3 ROW with about 15% accuracy (some folks with priority date 02/2003 didn't get visas).

This is a good thing ..

vic_m,

I am not sure what the source of your information is but if the USCIS was able to use up all alloted EB3 visas for FY06 then it is good news because they are atleast not wasting visas and it confirms that the demand is indeed extremely high. Also there are different categories within EB3 and maybe EB3 ROW might have been used up while others may not have. Maybe each and every category within EB3 was used up in FY06. We will know for sure in Jan when the DOS/USCIS releases the stats for FY06.

Just because people with current PDs are waiting doesn't mean that visa numbers were used up. Care to give a link where u found this info.

vic_m,

Just as blondhenge has pointed out, I fail to see how you determined from this post that all visas alloted to EB3 in FY06 have been used up. One applicant receiving an update from a Service Center stating that visas are not available while his/her PD is current can hardly be used as a basis for that conclusion. I have been given such unique updates from Service Centers that I rarely tend to pay much attention to what they have to say in response to an inquiry let alone come to decisive conclusions :)

Yep, it might not sound convincing, I agree. I was watching EB3 approvals closely and noticed that either approval rate was gradually declining over the last week or people suddenly stopped posting their approvals. When I saw those "visa availability" messages the subj came to my mind.
Up to that point I was a strong believer that USCIS was driving the dates out of blue and the EB3 quota wouldn't be used. Now I'm not so sure about it.

Considering that USCIS doesn't even generate the priority dates, they're certainly not making them up.
