FY-08: latest press release from uscis-apr-09

Hi, is there any update on the US Masters' 20,000 visas, and have many of them have exhausted till date? The last I read was about 4,700 out of the 28,000 packets opened so far..

No updates on that number yet.

However, if USCIS receives > 20,000 exempt cases on April 2 and April 3, USCIS will first conduct a lottery to select 20,000 applications. Remaining applications not selected will be a part of the bigger 65k lottery. Thus people with US MS/Phd would have 2 chances.

I just hope that MS quota doesn't fill up in first couple of days
