Hello,

I have a job offer from a pretty big start-up in DC. Currently a Trader in NYC. Looking for a TN under management consultant (since I have a BA in Political Science). However, they want to hire me as a full time employee and part-time or extra temporary as the Management Consultant category suggests it should be.

"There are, however, instances where full-time employment is a possibility. In these cases, the management consultant should not be assuming an existing position, replacing someone in an existing position, or filling a newly created permanent position." http://www.usworkvisa.com/visas/TN-Mex.html

I am getting stock options and health benefits as part of my job offer. How should I go about arguing for this position?

thanks,
Igo

You got this off a non-USCIS web site is this same text under the description of an MC on the USCIS web site?
I'm asking because based on the text above no one would ever be hired as an MC TN anywhere in the US.

Anyway, FT or Temporary, you still need the offer letter, etc ot state the job is for a duration of "up to 12 months". You just don't have to tell the officer, unless they specifcally ask, that you're hiring on as FT. Besides, aren't most new hires subject to a 30/60/90 day probationary period? You could be gone in 90 days because of loss of business, loss of investors, etc.
I'm FT with a consulting company my offer letter stated my position was for a duration of up to 12 months nobody at the POE even questioned me about any of the offer letter. I think you're worrying about nothing here....
