From full time to part time work irregularly

Currently, I am working on TN. Because of physical reason, I can not keep working full time, my employer ask me if I can continue to keep TN and work for them part time irregularly. For example: I will work on one project for two weeks and then stop for a while, and work on another project after three weeks.

I do not know if it is possible to do that under TN, any advice is highly appreciated.
 
Nobody knows whether you work two weeks and then take time off. What if you were working 16 hour shifts and then took three days off? What's the difference if you work two weeks and then take three off? As long as the work gets done and you get paid.
 
You can work part-time on TN.

The question is whether you can work part-time on your CURRENT TN, as it was defined.
 
Thanks a lot for sharing your opinion. Just because my part time situation is not very regular. probably it may be on and off sometime.
My employer wants me to keep the TN, but do not have a regular work plan for me, and that is why I am worried. Thanks again.

I think you're on thin ice here mostly because anyone entering the US, TN, H1B, B -2 visitor, is expected to have resources to support themselves so they don't show up at the local food bank, homeless shelter, housing authority, etc.
You obtained a TN for FT work which, because of a health issue, has become PT of some unknown number of hours and unknown duration. This is a material change in your employment I think USCIS could easily make a case here that you're no longer in status because your work situation has changed substantially.
You not said so I'll ask... are you on a salary or hourly rate? Are you collecting any disability beneftis from your employer's benefit plan?
 
Thanks. Right now I am not worried too much about the financial issue, because my husband will support our family here.

I was on a salary rate, and have not collected any disability benefit so far.

I understand it will be good to keep working. The only reason that I am hesitate to do what my employer suggested (this irregular work, and probably irregular pay suggestion is not clear yet) is I do not want my family get into any visa trouble (TN/TD application, probably green card processing) in the future. Anyway, thanks a lot for all your replys.

Would have been really helpful if you had shared this information at the start my answer may have been different.
When you get to the point of legal representation please, please, do not leave out little items like; "Oh, forget to tell you last month, I'm married" or "we have children".....
