Friend applied N-400 Application

Hello Everyone,

My friend applied for N-400 application on April 17. So far no news from Vermont Service Center. They have cashed her check but not sent her the receipt notice or the FP notice.

Should she be worried and try to contact USCIS Customer Service this is normal?

Nothing to worry about. Just tell him/her to relax and wait week or two.

Vermont Center usually write "ESC + 7 digit" number on the FRONT of the check. Convert it to ESC*00 + 7 digits and try it on USCIS status check on their website. It usually takes 10-14 days for it to appear online.
 
I'm in the same situation, VSC received my application on April 25, 07. I got the receipt no. from the check and tried online but so far no luck .. just waiting ...

No need to worry... my guess, you should get the NOA in the next 2-4 days...

I just got my notice today (no FP notice yet).
 
They appear to be backed up for some stuff, but not others; e.g. it took several weeks to get the initial notice for an immediate-family I-130, yet once it got in the system, the petition was approved by VSC in only 3 weeks.
