French requirement information,advise needed

Hi

I am applying for canadian immigration and would like some information on the French language requirement. Do we need to provide any kind of written certification for proving the French language requirement? or is it enough if you are able to speak/read french during the interview process?

Also are there any online assessment tests that can be taken to prove french skills that are acceptable for canadian immigration?

As per my knowledge, once you mentioned you know French, they will call for interview to test your knowledge in French. You put it only when you are confident. Otherwise, don’t take risk.

CIC officers will not assess your language skills at any interview.

If you read this,it clearly mentions that you will not be tested in interview.You need to take the french test or provide some evidence that you did take french courses previously.
