Was anybody’s 2nd FP done on the stupid card instead of the scanner? If so how long did it take for the results to go back to BCIS?
Finally when I got my 2nd FP done the stupid guy there did it on the card instead of doing it digitally. If done digitally it takes 24 to 48 hours for the results to go back from FBI to BCIS. It has been almost a week and when I did not see any status change on my case I called FBI. They said they didn’t even get my FP yet. I asked was it so because my FP was done on the card and she said that could be the reason because first it takes time for the card to physically get there (by postal mail) then it takes them up to 5 weeks to send the result back to BCIS . She said if it were digital then it would have taken just 24 hours for the whole thing.
Since they didn’t even get the FP card yet, I am guessing it will take few days for that then on top of that they’ll take up to 5 weeks and then who knows how long it might take before my 485 gets approved. This is very very frustrating.
At first I thought I’d go back to the BCIS FP office and ask them to do it again digitally. But now I am thinking that might not be such a good idea. First because they won’t let me do it saying that just 1 week has passed by and that I should wait (yeah, easy for them to say ‘WAIT’, it’s not their GC).... second, say they let me do it again... in that case FBI will get 2 FP (card & digital), which might confuse them.
Has anyone been in a similar situation before? Any inputs / comments / suggestions (other than asking me to WAIT, coz that’s all I have been doing for 3 years now) will be appreciated.
