FP2 in Different Location....Your advice please

Hello:

I have received my FP2 notice last week which is scheduled on 08/13 in Naperville IL ASC. My center is VSC and I live in Illinois.

Currently I am in San Jose, CA on a client engagement. Because of family reasons, I want to avoid travel in the coming months.

Can I do FP2 in San Jose? I heard that San Jose ASC is liberal. Is there going to be any negative affect by doing in different ASC?

Please share your experience.

I also did it in a different location. Was scheduled in TX for VSC since my petition is in VSC. But I did it at my new location, NY. I also did a change of address, but no questions asked during the FP2 process. They also updated my current address while fingerprinting happened.

The lawyer is saying the USCIS is aware of the travel situations/address changes for the pending petitions and will not enforce scheduled locations, but did not see it anywhere on the website.

send a private message to OmGV and ask his exprience. He has gone through a similar situation.
 
Yes you can do at a different location- just give some reason to the local center. I did the same- it worked out- the site LUD changed after 3+weeks.

They are all electronic and I don't think there will be any problem with giving FP at different location.

Myself and spouse gave in two different ASCs than scheduled one :)

I think it's good by your A# and EAC# not where FP is given.

Shouldn't be a problem

I did my FP2 at different location, no question asked. My Fp2 was scheduled at Newark on 06/05 but I did early FP2 at Santa Ana CA on 1st May.

I think this would help.
 
How did you guys re/schedule FP to a different location?

I am facing through a similar situation
 
Don't Reschedule

Don't reschedule you FP, Just go to different location and explain them your situation. They will let you in.
 
Hello Friends

I have moved from Detroit, MI to Houston, TX a year ago and filed AR-11 as soon as I have moved to Houston. My i485 is pending with VSC since Nov 5, 2002. I have received confirmation letter for change of address to my wife, son and me. And also I have received my 2nd EAD approval notice and card to Houston address.

Now I have recived Finger print notice from VSC to my old address in Detroit, asking me to go for finger print to Detroit center on 08/05.

My question is

Can I give finger prints in Houston ?

Yes you can. I have a similar case and I just did my FP2 today in Seattle but was scheduled in Boston on a later date.

Do you think, I can go to NEWYORK and do the FP2. But I am currently residing in NJ. Do you think they will allow me... I tried a lot in newark and hackensack and I am trying to explain the situation, they are simply asking me to re-schedule and i even explained the consequences of re-scheduling..
Finally, one officer in Hackensack says that as my appointment date falls in August and happens to be a different month and they will not accept.. I think this is wrong... I can understand the pressure in newark but in hackensack, it's not crowded. even then they dont want to do it.. NJ is CRAZY.........
Probably, I will postpone my trip and my travel agent is giving me a hard time.... she is asking hefty amount for re-schedule...
