FP? Which fingers?

I have 11 fingers. They took 10 cuz their database won't take the 11th. Any problem with your fingers, 0820?

FP is done on all the ten fingers but at the time ADIT process they take only index finger print. ADIT process is when INS order your plastic card.

I have not done FP yet. I will do it in San Jose this month.

I have a permanent scar from a deep cut in childhood on my right middle finger. Hope it does not matter.

They do frown at cuts and scars. If it is permanent, you can't do much about it. (Especially if it is in the finger print area). I say call IIO, and tell them about this. I've known people give alternate identification, like DNA etc.

I would do some homework and call lawyer/IIO and ask them about it.

If your case is attorney represented, ask them.
They would have an answer.

If you do not have attorney, call IIO and they
would help you.

INS would take FP of all 10 fingers during 485.

May be if it is permanent scar, they might accept
FP with it. An attorney or IIO would be a good
point of contact.

Interesting, but I never thought about what people would do if they had a permanant scar on their fingers. But I guess there is nothing you can do about it. Probably will have to prove it is permanant. Shouldn't really matter as long as it doesn't smudge most of the print, even hands that have been burnt apparently on regrowth produces the same fingerprints so I wouldn't be too worried if it were a permanant scar.

But that definitely explains what I thought was a strange question, my apologies! :)

Good luck and keep us posted!

I have a scar from a cut on my left ring finger. It was not a problem for the fingerprinting. As for smudging, since everything is computerized (no ink), it really isn't a problem. If you have a scar, you can't really do anything. Besides there's 9 other fingers as well.

I think (hope) that Silly Man was kidding about the DNA check.

DNA! No Kidding SM! :p

I would think a retinal scan would be a better alternative. Easier/faster than DNA testing which can take weeks.

But then again, the workings of INS are weird and strange.

Retinal scan ...i think that will be easy to fake lol ... "Minority report" or how about "entrapment"...lol and INS will never be able to find out.

Or INS could use it's most Hitech method yet. It's paper form, that mentions,

"Are you affiliated with any terrorist organization? Yes/No"

PS: Marking yes doesn't automatically disqualify you.

(Yea right, like anyone's gonna tell them).
