Hi All...

I moved from Oklahoma to New York. Allready informed INS about the changes of my temporary address in NY.

Me am my wife received 2nd EAD and FP notice recently, but they scheduled it in Oklahoma. I used my brother in laws address in Oklahoma as a permanent one.

Is it possible to do the FP in here in New York.. where we are living now.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Do not try to change your FP scheduling.

Hi, Don't even try to change your FP date. With things being as messed up as they are it could delay your processing by months. I would just drive/fly down to Okla and get the FP done. You could use this oppurtunity to reemphasize your address change to INS.

There ought to be two copies of the FP notice mailed, to you and your lawyer.

If, I go to Local office in New York they may not willing to do that ..right ..

Is it just for safety and to avoid any trouble ??????

Do you know anyone who faced such kind of things.

1. The FP notice is sent to both the lawyer and the applicant's address. However, I am not sure about my own case. After I got my FP, I faxed a copy to my lawyer. She neither told me she already got the FP notice nor acknowledge the receipt of the fax. But that's my lawyer!! :rolleyes:

2. Why don't you try to go to the nearest ASC (in NYC) at a time when there won't be any crowd? Ask them if you can do your FP there. Also, ask them if you can do it immediately (instead of waiting for your appointment date).

I agree with ramanathansunda that if you ask to change your FP date/place, you might be hung up on the random scheduler. You may never hear from them for a long time. So grab this chance! Good luck.

PS: Oklahoma to New York ... man, that's like moving from 18th century right into 21st century isn't it?! :D
 
try doing it at the ASC near your residence

I remember reading that an applicant's wife was in another city and she went to the nearest ASC, which is different from where it was scheduled. She got her FP done without any problems

Is it possible to do the FP in another Service Centre ....

My one is scheduled in Oklahoma... but right now I am in NY temporarily...

Already informed INS about the address change.

Is it at all possible...

Should I approach them...

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Here is an example.
I live in Arkansas and have been working on my I-485 for several years (Well, it looks that only). After talking several times to IIO got a notice for FP, but to be done in Detroit. This was so, because my attorney's office is from Detroit ( I think so).
I called TSC again and talked to a lady, who asked me to go to a nearest Police station in Louisiana (has FP facility for INS purposes). I went to this station several days before the required date and got FP done.
My report was sent by FBI the next day and got updated in system on Feb 3rd.
I think you can do it any where in USA. All reports go to FBI (central office).
