FP rejection

Did anybody in this board get FP rejected? What are the possible reasons? If ridges are not clear on one finger, does the FP gets rejected?

Please help

No Title

I did my first FP on 12/27/01 and it was unclassifiable. I had very dry skin on my hands. Then they required me to redo it on 01/26/02. I applied hand cream for two weeks. The second FP passed. So do not worry.

Don\'t Worry

INS will issue 2nd FP notice to you.Try a hand lotion for few weeks. Some times the ridges are not clear on a finger. So tell the person who is taking your FP to retake it. Also before he starts taking your FP, show him the fingers on which you feel the lines are not clear & explain him the problem.

In worst case if they reject the FPs for second time then INS will transfer your case to local INS & they will call you for an interview which is again a mere formality.

So relax, try lotion, but make sure that you do not cut yourself before FP. I think most of the time second time FP works out OK.

However I have seen some cases where 2nd FP is also gets rejected as image qaulity is poor, in that case there will be a local transfer.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for the details, Achiever. I have some old scars (cuts) on my fingers. Any comments?

It depends on the depth of a scar

If it is a minor scar then it should not pose much problem, but if it is deep then image will not show lines on finger correctly. Show your fingers & the scars to the person who is taking the FP & explain him the problem. They probably have a better idea how to take a proper FP in such cases.

Also if your hands, especially fingers are dry then use some hand lotion for few days/weeks before your FP date. But do not forget to show the scars & fingers to the person before he starts taking the FPs.

I have a amputated finger

I had given my FP on Jan 28Th and AVM says they are pending review. I spoke to IIO this morning she says they are unclasified. I explained her about my amputated finger(I have 2/3\'s of finger) and she said she do not know the reason, FP\'s are pending review.

Getting nervious about this process, any sugestions will be appriciated.

clue

My hand skin was really bad. They could not tell the fingerprints at all. Even I could not tell when I looked at my hands. so use some good hand cream. Do not worry.

Hell No, I am also waiting for my I485 approval

I could explain this is because i too had some lines which probably were made by cut when I was a child. So when lady took fp for that finger, computer did not accept it. She repeated many time & then she called supervisor. Supervisor then took the fp by keeping my finger certain way, putting some pressure & the FP was OK. I watched all these things as me & my wife both were there for FP.
