* My ND for 485 application is Dec 2003. I'm planning to go to india for 6 weeks. If INS send FP notice during this time what should I do?

* My EAD got approved last week, after the EAD approval the LUD for 140 also got changed. But 140 was approved like 3 months back. Has anyone noticed this before? If so what does it mean?

[1] INS gives enuf time for you to do the finger printing. Have someone check your mail regularly and chances are you might not receive FP any sooner. In case u get FP notice you have to comeback to do your FP. In the state where I live where INS office is empty most days, they do allow people to have finger printing done after the date of notice. But in high volume offices I don't think they would entertain that.
[2] Remove your 140 from the portfolio. Any change in LUDs for approved 140 has no meaning.

Is there any way to postpone FP date. I probably won't be able to come back immediately. Has anybody done this before?

I think if your lawyer also gets a copy he can call up and ask for a postponement. I am in a similar boat. ND is Sep 03 and spouse has gone to India on vacation and return in Oct 04. I am sure everybody on the forum is going to kill me for saying this but I am hoping (for the first time) that the INS delays in sending my FP notice. But from past experience I know they may exactly do that opposite. Also I have been told in certain FP notices they give a date and also give a grace period after that. I think the notice mentions it.

Yes and I guess it depends on the center. Low volume offices do accept. For my FP I advanced my date and my friend had to postpone it due to a medical emergency. He called the local office and they did accept.

I went to India on friday for 4 weeks. I recieved FP notice next monday. I had to shorten my trip by a week. INS works in misterious ways.

I think advancing wouldn't be an issue. Just call ahead in time and can get FPed.

Why don't you try going before you leave? I did that in Boston and it went fine. Just have your notice in hand and act like you belong there and you do.
I suggest that you do it before you leave.

FP notice

My wife got her FP notice.I'm still waiting for FP notice.
Appointment for my wife in october at newark.
Two months back i changed my address form NJ to DE.
Two weeks back applied for second EAD (for me and wife) with new address.

I mailed the AR11 from,but did not call the service center to update address.
Will this be a problem when she goes for FP

My wife gor her finger print notice last satuday and the date for FP is 10/05. That probably gives you the 6 weeks and helps you.

Dont worry about not calling for the address change. Just tell them you were not informed about that and you had sent in the AR 11. Theyw ill automatically update it.
 
I think time is usually 15 days in high volume centers. In queens Ny where I got it they issued it on 23th aug for sep 11. I rcvd on 27th aug.
