That theory could be true. All the other 3 co-workers applied on their own for I-485 and have got their FPs in short time ( within 3-4 weeks ).
Around same time, I filed for my 485 thru a attorney and all I have got is EAD approval.
Our time frames are May 7 to May 17th.
I think this theory might be true Unless someone tells us that they applied with a attorney and got their FP notice in short time.
As for most part what I see is that either lucky people get FP in 2-3 or they dont (for all practical purposes)
Also, I think this theory may be true.
People who have gotten FP quick (within 3 month of applying), please post whether you applied through attorney. Please post your RD/ND, FP date and FP notice date (when you received your FP notice), and your location.
I was surprised at how quickly the FP date came through. Attorney said it usually takes 3-4 months for EAD and mine came in weeks. However, apparently this is no idication of an earlier approval date. They are still telling me this will be next June/July.
Scotsgirl so let me get this right,
Your Rd was 07/8/02
and your EAD Approval was 07/23/02
and you got a FP notice as well ??
If so, yeah you have got approvals in rather short time. I think in regards to 485 processing , so far you are the luckiest barring some souls who have 485 approval in less than 6 months.
Since scotsgirl applied thru a attorney her reponse just throws the theory out in the bin.
Sorry. The whole service center thing was confusing me. I believed originally that I was filing in Texas but apparently it is Vermont. Sorry for the confusion.
I am living in Texas but apparently the lawyers (in New York) file all cases in the Vermont service center. I have e-mailed them for confirmation.
The bad news is that from reviewing the posts here it seems like there is a 5 month time period between fingerprinting and approval. Vermont seems to be much longer.
I work for a mega large company with hundreds of GC applications pending and the last person to get Approval is from April 2001 according to the immigration analyst here and no one is getting FP in 2 or 3 months.
So, I am wondering can FP be based on the company you work for. Talk to your co-workers and get back.
Yeah, GC_applicant, if it works for you, let me know, I will be the next to follow you. Otherwise, I agree with SG94 that those of us who applied in may-june 02 and have not got their FPs might be heading into
that blackhole ( now being witnessed by May-Sep '01 filers).
