FP question. Help!

I have posted this in VSC 485 section, but didn't get any reply. So I thought this should be a better place to ask this question.

I am considering going to Charlotte, NC for FP since my FP2 and FP3(done in Raleigh) were both rejected by FBI as unprocessable. Has anybody had your FP taken at Charlotte CIS? Do they do electronic FP or they just do fingerprint card?

Any input is appreciated! I am so frustrated. I never had this problem with my 1st FP. Has anybody had the same experience -- FP was rejected more than once?

Fingerprints getting rejected is not all that uncommon. FBI wants legible FP, and it is always possible that have birth defects, physical deformities, or skin conditions that prevent you from submitting valid FP. However, there is remedy, you could look into the waiver eligibility, which will help you make progress and not stuck at the FP stage.

Read this link for more information,
http://www.immigrationlinks.com/news/news144.htm
That link also has a form to fill to obtain waiver.

You might want to speak with the INS office you are visiting to ask about waiver. Best of luck!

Thanks for the info. I had my FP4 done in Charlotte. They have very good computers to check the quality of the fingerprints right away. They can retake the fingerprints until the computer says pass. I have called FBI and they told me the fingerprint clearance was done the same day.

Thanks!

How to call FBI about the FP results?

I have 2nd FP done on Aug. 3, 2004, and haven't heard anything since then. Could anyone tell me how to check what process it is in now? What number to check with FBI process?

1. Call FBI information center at 304 625 5590

2. Select Option 3

3. Tell the representative that you need to check whether your FP resule has been sent back to CIS?

4. Give the representative your A# and name and she will tell you the info you need.

I just read from Murphy.com that all fingerprints after Oct. 1, 2004 will need to be done at a ASC(Application Support Center). Raleigh does not have ASC. The place I went for fingerprinting in Raleigh is a Designated Law Enforcement Agency (DLEA). Recently, USCIS has terminated all contracts with DLEA.

As I know of, Charlotte is the only city that has ASC in North Carolina. So after Oct.1, 2004. All North Carolina 485 applicants will have to drive to Charlotte for fingerprinting.
