FP Processing Time

Does anybody know how long it takes to process your finger pritns so that they are back at INS. I had mine done on 5/28/02 but when I check my case status online, all it says is that they sent me notice for finger printing, which was like 6 months ago. Should I be alarmed or wait longer?
 
Well, I was looking for answer to the same problem as yours before posting a query when I hit upon your post.

I had fingerprinting done for my family in May 2002 but on the website I still get the same message stating the fingerprinting request has been sent. I am getting alarmed by this delay of over 6 months since fingerprinting was done but I guess that makes atleast two of us with same status.

Why don't you call FBI at (304) 625-5590, option 4 to talk to an FBI officer and check for the status of your finger prints reporting to INS by giving your A#. That's what everyone does. Normally, they report goes back to INS the very next day after you give the fingerprints.
 
Thanks for the FBI tip. I found on the other forums that INS does not update their FP status for some time, even if they have recived it from the FBI.
 
I am in the same boat as you guys are . Online message still says the same thing as 6 months back. If you guys have called FBI can you tell me what were you informed about your FP. From what I have heard all they tell you is if they have sent the FP back to INS. they donot tell you if they have approved it or not. Also I was at the local office to renew my EAD and that time the local IIO informed me that INS is only waiting to review my case and she does not see any problem related to FP but I can't take her word for it until the status is updated online. Please let me know what you guys find
