FP notice

Hello friends,

I have received a FP notice in Boston (VSC) for October 23.

My I-485 AOS application was sent end of August 2002. My I-140 was approved in May 2002.

The question I have is, "what does FP notice actually mean?" Will they be giving me an interview date when I go in for it? Does it mean the end is near? Does it mean nothing?

My priority date (Japanese born) is August 2000 and I'm EB-3. So I'm wondering what that means.

Can anyone offer some thoughts?

No, it is not like earlier where you get FP notice, means you are going to get an approval soon. Now in VSC, you will get FP within 2 months of your application of I 485, but after that you will have to wait (I don't know how long, may be a year, to get the approval or get a RFE). It is just going to be your FP, no interview.
