"Initial Review
On May 29, 2012, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

However, I have not received the FP notice yet.
Is there anything wrong? How do I find it out where the FP notice is at?
Please advise.

It appears that you fp notice that was mailed is lost.

Based on the information you have provided (May 29th) it would appear that your fp appointment date has just passed or is this week. So, first get a fax machine ready, then call the Customer suppor number, request to speak to the Tier II rep and request him/her to fax you the appointment notice.

Let us know how it goes.

Or you could try the online eRequest:

USCIS said:
e-Request is a web-based tool that allows you to place an inquiry with USCIS for certain applications and petitions. You may make an inquiry on selected forms that are beyond posted processing times or selected forms where you did not receive an Application Support Center (ASC) appointment notice or other notice. You can also create an inquiry for a notice you received from a Service Center with a typographical error.
To place an inquiry, you will need your receipt number. If you do not have your receipt number contact the USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY).

I just called 1-800-375-5283 and was told that I need to allow 30 days for the mailing process and can call back on 6/29.
Mailing takes 30 days ???
I am not sure if it is normally expected.
Does anyone have this long waiting on FP notice mailing??

It certainly should not take 30 days from the time the FP notice is mailed for you to get it.
Unfortunately, the clerks staffing the USCIS 800 number are rather low-level and often poorly trained contractors, so one can't trust too much what they say.

Try calling the 800 number a couple of more times and insists on talking to a second-level IO.
If you don't manage to get to a second-level IO after a few more attempts, schedule an IFOPASS appointment at your local USCIS District Office. With luck, they'll be able to give you a new FP notice there on the spot.

I talked to 2nd-level IO, and my FP appointment date was on 6/20 and passed....
I have not gotten any mail.
What is the action I need to take?
Please advise.

What do you mean "What is the action I need to take"???

If you got through to the second-level IO, you should have asked him/her that question, and should have asked for another FP appointment letter to be mailed to you.

I have made Infopass appointment for 7/5 re. not receiving the FP notice and will visit the office.
Do you know if I can get the FP done on the same day after meeting IO? My FP notice must have been lost during the mailing process, or never mailed out to me.

Please advise.

I had the same problem, and finally I went for INFOPASS, the IO immediately printed the notice and called the ASC office to get our FP done. I too had the date passed (FP actual date 5/31, FP did on 6/14) but still could use the old notice for FP. Do not waste time get the earliest Infopass and do the FP the same day walkin. good luck

good_y,

I am glad to get the great info.
I still don't have the FP notice (never mailed to me as of today). Did you print out the one on Web, https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do ?
What was the duration to get the Walk-in FP done on the same day? I like to know approx. how long it would take so that I can plan for that morning.

Please advise.

I got the letter during the infopass, the IO printed it for me - it took only 10 min , will depend on your DO, he was nice and called the ASC and told them that he is sending two people (me and my wife) for FP. Fp was done in another 10 min-(the two office were 5 miles away in Pittsburgh).
I am sure that you can get FP done at the same day. see my signature.

Yes, I got my FP done this morning after talking to the officer.
She checked several things and sent me to the FP Office.
The wait time was about 40 minutes, but I am glad that it was done today.

Good to know that your done with FP.

I got "Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling". It was quick after the FP. Did you get the inline notice?

I just checked and got the message " "on July 9, Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling"
Waiting for the interview date, my wife got her interview on 7/24.
