Received FP notice on Sep/19, went to ASC on Sep/20 and had our FP done.

ASC: Oakland, CA

I-485
RD: Aug 23, 2002
ND: Aug 26, 2002

WAC-02-265-5xxxx

Usually they don't allow FP's to be done before the scheduled date and time at the ASC. Our's was an exceptional case (we're expecting our baby next month) and hence they considered.

Very simple process... just took about 15 minutes (from entering the ASC to exiting); there was no crowd though!

It is important that your fingers be clean of nicks and cuts. Take your time and let your finger tips heal naturally (if cut or scratched) before going for FP.

INS will have your FP done again repeatedly if your prints were rejected by FBI. One of my friends had had to do her's four times!! No joke!!! Obviously, it delayed her processing.

Keeping fingers crossed for next steps...

Hi All,

Just got my FP notice for oct 23. My case details are

WAC-02-274-XXXXX
RD:09/05/02
ND:09/09/02
FP notice received today for 10/23 at San Francisco.

Question :

Is it possible to go for the finger printing right away. Ive seen many go to their local centre and get their FP done as long as their notice is rec'd. What needs to be done in order to go in earlier than the scheduled date ?

Thanks

Rambo

Rambo,

You could try going to your ASC before your appointment date to have your FP done. You don't need to do anything. Just take your Notice, your passport and your Driver's license, and walk into the ASC.

If you can justify your early appearance, there are 90% chances that ur FP could be done. But, don't take my word for it. You may not be asked anything at all and you might be allowed to FP. It all depends on the person at the door, who will check your Notice and give you a form to fill-in.

Just a few important things to remember:

1. Have your finger tips clean of nicks and cuts.
2. Plan on going to the ASC in the afternoon, when there is no crowd.
3. Plan on going sometime between Wednesday and Friday. I went on Friday at about 2pm.

If you are refused FP before ur appt. date, don't worry! Just return on the scheduled date.

That's it!!

Good Luck!!

help about family finger print notice

Hi, ALL: (VSC, boston, EB2)

Please help: I got I485 receipt for myself , my wife and my son for EB based application on Sep 4 (ND) same day.
Then I got the finger print Notice on Sep 17 , but I did not got the finger print notice for my wife(I presume that my son don't need it 10year old).
Since I just moved, and I registered the address chang in Post Office, so my notice can be transfer from the old addresss to me. But I forget to register my wife's in the post office, so I am fraid of the notice was lost.
But after I check the case status on line, I found that my case clearly states the finger print notice mailed to me. But my wife's case status just shows I485 was received.

so my questions are:

1. are the finger print notices are separeted for spouse, so I should got a different on for my wife?

2. is it odd that all receipts for I485 mailed together on the same date to me, but my case status show the finger print move, but not my wife's. Is it possible that my wife's finger print notice has not mailed out yet?

3. If just because of the address change, we missed my wife's finger print notice , what can I do now?

Thank you very very much.

let's keep communicating

I am WAS-02-275-xxxxxx. RD 09/06/02 FP is on 10/23. I was surprised to see FP come in 2 weeks of filing 485, where as another guy i know is waiting since Jan'02. I am EB1. My question is : Has INS altered the 485 processing sequence by bringing the FP to beginning instead of doing it at the end?

With FP in Oct'02, can I expect approval by 2-3 months ( Dec'02 or Jan'03)?

Does the 485 application change on AVM

Hi Guys,

When the FP notice is generated and mailed, does the 485 application status change on the AVM?
