FP notice question

Hi everybody,

I have a quick question. My application was received by USCIS on Nov. 14, 2005 and my number is already current since October. My case status online states "On November 14, 2005, your fingerprint fee was accepted as complete, and processing of your case has resumed."

Can anybody, please, share experience when approximately my fingerprints' appointment invitation for date and time they should be taken will arrive? When does it normally happen?

Thank you in advance. It's almost a month since they got my papers but nothing so far except receipt numbers for me and my family. I am getting worried.

Thank you once again. :)

i have the same situation, i got invitatation on biometrix in 1.5 week, so just wait.....
good luck.

thank you guys

Thank you all so much for replies.

I am trying not to worry but still feel little nervous deep inside. But I hope everything will be just fine.
One more question. My current visa expires on Dec. 31, 2005. Should I submit application for new visa, or should I just wait for my GC?

Thank you once again :)

I am not 100% sure, but i believe you should not try to get a new visa. On that interview you will have to prove that you have no intentions of staying in the US beyond the time allowed by your visa. One of the questions in the application is if you have applied for the Dv program. You might not get the visa and therefore will not be able to come back and continue with your AOS.
Just an opinoin, not a fact.
Good luck.

It mainly depends on the kind of visa that you have. If you are here on an F-1 visa and have been in good status, you should be able to continue with AOS with your I-20 and I-94 even if your visa is expired. An unxepired F-1 visa is just needed to enter/re-enter into the US and as long as you are already in the US and in good status, the expring visa shouldn't be a concern.

If you are here on another visa other than F-1, things might be different.
