FP issue - unable to get a good FP. Should I consult a dermatologist?

I went for FP yesterday at Alexandria ASC, everything was great about the experience except the finger printing itself. :( What should have been a 5 minute process took more than 30 minutes and in the end the person who took the FP did not look very satisfied. She took each FP atleast thrice or four times but each time the system said image is not captured or image does not match. She said my skin type is not good and I will receive the results by mail. I am confused and concerned now. My GC FP took multiple tries but I was not called for 2nd FP. This has happened in the airports too.

Has anybody faced this problem? What would be the next step? I even asked her if there is a way to try my FP again then and there instead of travelling all the way upto Northern VA. She said there is a process that needs to be followed.

Assuming I will be called for 2nd FP, is there anything I could do to improve my skin quality. It sounds silly even to me as I write this, but if I think of all the logistics that is included in the trip to Alexandria, I might as well do something proactive. any inputs/advice appreciated.

Relax, it's one of those things that you can't do anything about, let them find a fix for it. After all it's not fault let them worry about how to take FP of sensitive skin types.

I was told to use Corn Husker's lotion.
I got called in for my 2nd FP as well.
For my interview I brought in the added insurance of bringing in my police clearance from the place I've lived in the past 5 years. I was told at the interview that my 2nd set of fingerprints weren't readable to which I promptly took out the police clearance that I brought with me. The officer seemed pleased about that since my case would have had to be on hold until that was received by the USCIS.

Hi Grumpybear,

Thanks for the reply. I see that you got your Interview Letter the next day after your 2nd FP notice. So, they didn't wait for your FP to be cleared? Did you do your 2nd FP? If yes, when? Also, what's the procedure of getting the police clearance certificate? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it seems that they did not wait for my FP results when they sent the interview letter. I did my 2nd FP as it was part of the procedure. My 2nd FP date was July 21 (2 wks after my first FP) and I went on that date.
As far as police clearance, since I lived in only one address for the last 5 years, I just went to the trooper's office (we live outside city limits) to request for it. It was a background check, if I'm not mistaken. They were pretty familiar with it being used for immigration purposes. If you lived in different counties/cities in the last 5 years, you need to get a police clearance from each of the counties/cities that you've resided in during that period.
All I needed was an ID, something that showed my signature (credit card, passport, etc) and a $20 fee.
I was never sent anything after my 2nd FP to show whether or not my FP's were readable this time. I just took it upon myself to bring the police clearance, just in case. And I'm glad I did since I received my oath letter right after the interview. Had I not had my police clearance, my papers would've been delayed until I mailed those in.
