Hi
I have completed my fingerprint process in Jan,2002. During that appt, I did not go through an interview nor was anything stamped on my passport.
Upon checking my status w/INS online, this was the response. "FP Completed, Resumed Processing - NON IDENT"
My questions are;
1) What does the above response from INS actually mean?
2) Do I need to wait for my final approval of my I485 to change my H1-B status completely to Permanent Residency status before I quit/leave my present job
3) Do I need to get my EAD? I asked INS@Boston and was told that if I needed to travel out of the US, I can file a permission to travel i.e. I-131 etc.
4) What would happen to my filing status if my employer lays me off
5) What is the estimated wait time after I complete my finger print process till I receive my physical greencard? Right now, INS states that it is 12-18mths from the time that I-485 was filed.
Thanks....appreciate any advise/infor that the forum has to offer!
