FP FBI cleared same day = reject ?? approved people pl comment

Hello:

I saw this on another board that this person and his wife went for FP and on calling a few days back he was told that his FP was sent to INS same day and his wife\'s after 3 days. he got second FP. When i did my first FP, i was told that it was sent same day and i also got a second FP which i did last week.

Today i talked to a nice person at FBI and she said that they can no longer tell if the prints were succesful (readable) and if the record check was ok. she said that they used to do this a few months back but now they have changed their policy.

I would like to hear from the approved people and people who got 2nd FP notice if this theory is correct.

My FP was at first done on Jan. 24 and FBI told me the quality was bad.
My 2nd FP was done on Feb. 1st and FBI said "cleared and sent back to INS on the same day".
My 485 got approved Feb. 21.

Yes, the policy of INS/FBI may change any time, so the old experience may be inapplicable nowadays.

If it does change recently as you said, what\'s the reason of change?
It is very possible that INS/FBI have got tired to answer the overwhelming number of FP-related calls so that they just give you a vague answer and discourage this kind of calls.

For me and wife FBI said they have "processed and send it back to INS on same day ".....If FPs are unreadable then FBI "wont have processed it"...thats what I understand...

Hello debo_nair: I also got the same reply "processed and send results to INS on same day" . FBI can take a look at the quality which can be called "processed" and send the rejection to INS which is called "results". Just another possiblity. Did INS confirm that your FP was good and into their system.

No i have not checked with INS....I will wait for a few more days and see if i get more FP notice....I still dont understand why they would take 3-4 days to approve....I am mighty sure FBI works more hours than the usual 9 - 5 hours..also our FP was done 12 noon which is 3 pm ET on saturday.......anyway wait and see ..Its also possible that FPs were not readable in your wifes case and they might have taken time to recheck it more thoroughly...I read at VSC postings that the FBI computers were done for a few days last week of march and some FPS were processed after 3-4 days...so we just have to assume the good ..anyways we have no choice

How do u check with FBI, With A# or anything else...Please Help..I had my FP done on 30 March 2001 and i need to check with FBI..Thanks in advance

Called FBI and checked my FP status. FBI person said that FP are cleared and sent back to INS on the same day. I hope that it meants FP is not rejected. Did any body call INS and found out about FP.

did u do ur FP before schedule or what? mine was suppoed to be on 04/17/01 thuogh i did it on 03/31/01 ...I will call INS at end of month...
