My wife's finger prints are already expired. She called NCSC and they told her that they will mail a response (for the call) with in 30 days. Inefficient NCSC. Mine are going to expire in next 3 months, don't know what to do. I am sure that there would be no use calling NCSC.

When do FPs expire

Can someone shed light on when these FPs expire from the
date they were taken ?

I dont think FP will ever expire. I think it is upto the Service Center to decide if they want a re-FP. What I mean is there is no specific time line. Please correct me if I am worng.

FP expiration - 15 months

Finger Prints do expire within 15 months after the BCIS receives an approved finger-print record from the FBI. Therefore if you have something like, "On June 19, 2002 the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made," you can assume safely that yours expires right today! Compare and contrast that the date of reckoning doesn't start with the actual date of finger-print recording, but actual date of receipt of response at BCIS side from the FBI.

I read an explicit article on this regard and that is how I can vouchsafe for my own response. Sorry, unfortunately I do not have that URL to post here.

15 months is right, though I heard there were some activities going on in the Congress or DHS trying to extend that since the backlog in BCIS is huge and a lot of cases have to do re-FP.
