FP date and processing time?

Hi,
 My friend sent 485 application in early Jan. 2002, and her fingerprint was schedule on mid Mar. 2002. She lives in New York city and works in Long Island, NY. It seems rather too fast between RD and FP, but it is true. I sent my application in Dec. 2001, but no FP notice yet.

 My question is, is the approval time more dependent on your ND or FD?

a couple weeks ago I saw another guy living in queens
with similar date waiting for FP too. no sure did he
get his by now.

asked IIO and was told my case was not in the stage yet.
