FP - Code 3

I also got biometrics code 3.

It's a rainy day in southern California today, not many people in the room.
However, the official did not say anything and just absent-mindedly took my 10 fingerprints and told me its done.

I said no, not done yet, I was supposed to take digital photos at least. Then she found another officer, go to another scanner, took some of my fingers again, then a photo. and signature.

I hope everything is fine. Because I am a little worried that there is a red asterisk on my right litthe finger. The officer said it's fine - who knows!

The first officer took away my FP receipt notice. She went on to do FP for next customer. When I suggested photos need, she gave my receipt to the next officer. Then the next officer returned the FP notice to me. Messy? Funny?

My experience was like this:

First, receiptionist verified the passport to check my identity, asked me to sign in two places (one for regular FP) and the other one was for Biometrics in a Log book. He gave me a form to fill up and asked me to see the supervisor. Then the supervisor checked the form that I filled in, verified all my Ten fingers to see if there is any cut/damage etc. Then he gave me a token and asked me to wait. When my turn came, an officer called me, entered my details in the computer, took FP of my right index finger ONLY, asked me to sign (digital) and took a photograph. He then asked his boss to verify my Biometrics info/index FP/photograph. After verifying these, he gave his approval. Next comes regular FP, the same officer entered my details in the computer, took FP of all ten fingers until everything came perfectly. Then he called his boss to verify all the information and FP. After verifying these, he gave his approval. Finally the officer stamped the form at the back side, signed it and gave it to me. He took the original FP notice.

Thats it. This is a typical FP/Biometrics process. This whole process took around 12-15 min. BTW, I did my early FP in Pittsburgh last weekend.

Hope this helps.

I also did it early. I had only one form to fill.

Now the form and original receipt are in my hands. The form is stamped. The receipt is dated.

No problem, just walk-in.

Not all ASCs are accepting early FP. Which ASC is mentioned in your FP notice?

Will depend on each center

Hi,

Frequently, attorneys will advise you to totally avoid any avoidable contact with BCIS / INS.

Throwing caution to the winds, I did approach the supervisor a week before my date. He told me to come the day after my scheduled date because on the scheduled date, they were planning to replace the Finger print recording machine and that would create work pressures as they would still be learning the processes for the new machine.

My suggestion is, to approach and ask supervisor if you can go early - never hurts to ask. Further, this gives you an opportunity to verify that your fingers are ok for fingerprinting - viz no cracks, wounds, scars etc. Also if you have Code 3, you will have your pic taken so you can always make that as your "excuse" to approach the supervisor in advance of your date - you want to be "suitably" dressed for the taking of the picture.

Hope this helps.
