From both it is walkable distance.
I am not sure of exact directions. Ask some one on the way, it is quite easy.

go to www.ins.usdoj.gov and follow links to boston service center. there you will get all the details -- officially. only suggestion, wear something warm it is really chilly outside while you wait to get in.

Portland Street, Near North Station
If you are going to give Fingerprints, you DON\'t go to JFK building. You should be going to Application support center in Portland Street. If you take Commuter rail, get down and take the exit nearer to Platform 10 in North station, you will see Portland street right across the street after you come out of North station, the office will be on your right. If you take Orange line, get down at North station (subway), and walk thru the street opposite to North station (subway), you will hit Portland street, and make a right into Portland street, and the office will be on your left.
