Former J1 applying for I-485

I was in J1 visa for two years and have got waiver. My I-140 EB1(EA) has just been approved. My questions is if I file I-485, do I need tax return form for the two-year of J1? It is known that J1 holders are tax free, would IAP-66 form be enough?

I was in the same boat. But I filed for tax return. Usually, INS asks for tax return and W 2\'s. Although you are tax free, but still you can file tax return.

J-1s are not tax free...Only exempt from SS taxes....

You should have returns for the federal and state tax filings and W-2s....
My wife is on J-1 and no SS taxes are deducted.....
