Format For Local Police Clearance

DOES any one know the format of the PCC to be obtained from the local police station???

I have already applied for PCC from the Indian consulate in New York.
Right now, I am in Mumbai and would like to obtain the PCC from local police station..When I approached the police station...nobody here is aware of any format or procedure..

Please help..

U said you applied at NY, did u receive it from NY?

And if your interview is in Jan, dont worry ..it\'s not must in Jan

No, my interview is not in Jan.,,it would be some where in April/May...
but I wanted to keep it ready,,I am right now in India..hence I wanted to know the process for getting PCC from local police station..

We don\'t have to dictate format.

Format should not be a big issue and the wording should be similar from all consulates.

But , from the new posting on Sheela Murthys site...it says that for Indians applying for CP outside India,,PCC from Indian consulate in that country is enough

Is Local Police Clearance Certificate the same as No objection Ceritificate.

I went to the Local police station. THey said they can give No objection certificate. Is this OK? This is in addition to the PCC from the Regional Passport office.
