Hi: I just got my perm residence and planning to come to Cananda in July. The money I am bringing with me ($10,000 CAD), do I have to bring it traveller's cheque or can it be a Money order or cashier's cheque in USD?

Thanks
VM

Any of the three (travellers check, money order or cashiers check) in USD or loonie should be fine. IMO

4.5 years. I am applying from India.

new immigrant

hi! hope somebody can answer my queries. my application for permanent resident was approved and am planning to enter vancouver, canada december this year. here are my concerns:

1. will it matter if i declare that i'll be initially stay for a month (december - january) to get my PR card then go back to manila to make final settlements (complete the sale of my properties, etc.) before fully migrating? i got myself a return ticket and i just want to be prepared in case the immigration officer ask.

2. do i have to have and show the whole proof of settlement fund (10,000 CA$) even if i am initially staying for a month though i have a letter from my relatives guaranteeing that they are willing to support me until (accomodation, etc.) meantime that i am establishing myself?

need your opinion or should you had encountered the same concerns, please advise. thanks!
