Form N-652 "Naturalization Interview results"

I had my interview. After waiting so long for a simple military naturalization which most get it done within 6 months. I knew it was too good to be true to receive an interview notice in the first place.

After the pathetic exam, I got a N-652 with a check next to B): A decision cannot yet be made about your application.

The interviewer explained that a security/background check was pending, she was also expecting another file from national records and since I requested a name change, a federal judge needs to be present, and the first such ceremony is on 9/11/2006. I guess the security check takes quite a long time if you are not lucky. Yet again, I got tangled with another background check and this time I don't know how long I will have to wait. I just gave up on this thing. There is no point to keep hopes up high with the immigration business. I am "beyond" the words "I am sick of waiting."

What a joke. I am ready to go catch a bullet within 11 months in the sandbox, they are busy (NOT!) on getting a background check done. One strict thing on my will before I leave for Iraq is going to be that I, under no circumstance, will ACCEPT posthumous citizenship from this country!

Do not give up, keep your head up, good days will come for you too ;)

good luck

bush master, hang in there. hope the best for you.

after reading your post, i have a question of my own that i am hoping
someone here can answer.

If there is some background check pending, do they always
indicate on N-652 that a decision cannot be made? In my case,
he ticked on the 'congratulations you have been recommended'.
However, I was not given an oath date at the time of interview (6/22). I assumed that not getting an oath date meant that a background check was incomplete. If that were true, would he have ticked on ' a decision
cannot be made' ? The interview officer was extremely cold, so i left
the place as soon as he said we were done. I did not want to stay a minute
longer asking him questions..

please clarify. Thanks.

pd 2/28.
iv date 6/22.
oath date: no word

nt necessarily, most d.o's are a bit slow with the post processing of applications and since it is of slow volume, they prefer to wait for till a particular number of applicants are approved for n400 and then give them oath on a particular date...
now if u google around u should be able to figure out when ur d.o's next oath ceremony is scheduled..
hope this helps

Unless you were going to be given the opportunity for same-day oath, I'm fairly sure you have to wait for an oath ceremony notice to be mailed to you.

From what I've read on this board, I suppose it is possible the IO might have missed/forgotten to check namecheck status, but frankly I think a little unlikely. Congrats on passing the interview!

there is no way an io can forget the results of name check :)...it is compulsary...u r interview canot be concluded without the uscis going through the fbi namecheck portion...

cheers

Where and when blah blah .I was wondering if she was trying to fail the interview .when we done with applications she moved forward to the civic questions. Which I answered the first 6 in 1 minutes and writing skills for less than amin .and reading one sentence successfully. (She said perfect ) I thought I will get approved .so she handheld me paper stated that I passed the English test and government history .the other box says decision cannot be made at this time . What the heck. I flow from Seattle to anchorege alaska and this is what I got
