Form I-131 Questions

Good Evening,

I have a few questions about this form, hopefully you have the answers

1. I am currently in the US on an L1(B) visa and applying for my green card based on a marriage to a US citizen. My L1(B) expires 11/04/2012 and I'm hoping to use this form to allow me to travel to Canada after my L1(B) expires. What application type should I select?

2. How do I fill out this form so that between 11/04/12 and when my green card is approved, I can travel when needed to Canada? I only see an intended departure date question on the form and length of the trip. I don't have any specific plans, but we are having a baby in september and will want to travel when possible to Canada to see relatives etc.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
