Form I-130...do i enter a nickname for "Other Names Used"?

Hi. I have a question regarding Question 7 on the I-130. On all her legal docs (passport, birth cert, licenses, credit cards, etc) my wife's name is officially Jane Rebecca Farnsworth. (the first and last names are fictional for the purpose of this question). Also, she has not taken my last name after marriage so she does not have a separate maiden name.

However, socially, she has ALWAYS gone by Becca (an abbreviation of her middle name, Rebecca) instead of by her first name.

Should i report this Question 7 - "Other Names Used"?

If so, do i just write "Becca" or "Becca Farnsworth"?

I wouldn't... Other names is meant for maiden names. In my opinion I would put n\A in that space.
In ANY non-applicable or space you leave blank Always put n\a or none.
 
No, it is not just for maiden names. If you've ever used other names you need to list them all there. This is often the case when someone has multiple names in different languages that are used separately but not together.

But if she only uses "Becca" socially in conversation and informal notes then leaving it out should pose no problem, it is an obvious diminutive of Rebecca. It is more important if there is a completely different name. If she uses Becca on official forms then to be safe you should include it.
 
When I did my AOS papers, I did have an "other" name that I put in there. My name as it appears on all significant documents (Birth Certificates, Passport, bills, I-94 / immigration stuff) is Johnny and that is what I used for my AOS application. However, some bills are in my commonly used name "John" (bills and proofs which I used as part of my AOS to prove a bona fide relationship etc). Therefore, I decided to put that in the "other names used" box.

All went well and I was subsequently approved. Just wanted to add my 2 cents.
